How can you be a Light in the World?

Thomas S. Monson once said: "Unfortunately, for many that light with which all were endowed at birth has dimmed—in some cases almost to the point of being extinguished—as outside influences have come to bear and the sometimes harsh realities of life have been experienced. Ours is the responsibility to keep our lights aflame and burning brightly, that they might shine for others to see and follow."

Life is all about attitude. You can have something bad happen to you, but whether or not that affects your life is up to you. You can choose to have a good attitude about a trial in you life. Instead of think, "Wow! I messed up super bad!" you can think along the lines of: "Okay, I made a mistake. But I know that I can do better next time."

I have had countless situations in my life where I could either have a good or bad attitude. So many times I have chosen the latter. It is easy to get caught up with the hard trials in life. Want to change that? Sometimes all you need to do is put a smile on your face and reach out to other people who need you. Do some service. Have a little faith and try to make a difference in the lives of other people. I'm not perfect, and so I know how hard that can be. You might be surprised what a little bit of service could do for you.

  1. Awesome blog, Bekah! I love your insights. I agree, you can't always choose what happens to you in life, because some things are out of our control, but we DO have control over our outlook and attitude towards life, and we CAN choose how we react to those trials and hardships that will most certainly happen to us in life, even though life is hard, and it is very hard to change your attitude to a more positive outlook. :)
